Launching a visit to the sites affected by the floods
Waeey Organization for Heritage and Development, in partnership with the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums – Taiz, implemented a visit to many historical sites affected by the torrential rain disaster in Taiz, and was briefed on the extent of the losses and collapses of the historical site of Al-Sarajiyeh and the increasing severe damage to Al-Kahira Citadel. The visit was an implementation of the coordination meeting outcomes between the authority’s branch and the organization.
The organization intends to continue efforts aimed at protecting the cultural heritage, buildings and historical monuments damaged by the torrential disaster that befell the city of Taiz.
Waeey organization appeals to all parties and institutions interested in heritage and international organizations to make collective efforts for avoiding further loss and implement risk mitigation mechanisms, to ensure that the residents of this city can live and preserve the historical heritage left by the ancestors who had preserved it.
