One of the oldest archaeological buildings in Taiz collapsed

One of the oldest archaeological buildings of the c Taiz city is on the way to collapse. The old city in Taiz is the center and base of the Taiz history as to it was contemporary to many countries that ruled Yemen throughout history and the capital of the Rasulid state that was established in the second half of the seventh century AH. The oldest historical and archaeological buildings of the city have become unable to cope with climate and environmental changes, and every day the danger increases and parts of it collapse. The pictures below are of one of these important buildings (Dar Al-Mujahid), in which the judiciary was practiced long many decades throughout the history of Yemen. The roofs of the building were destroyed, which caused the collapse of the upper facades and the fall of stones threatening the lives of passers-by and the neighboring community as well, which made the owner of the building, under pressure of the community, remove parts of the upper floor of the building for fear from causing a disaster. It is worth noting that there are many archaeological and historical buildings of the city that will disappear if they are not remedied. As these buildings represent a great historical importance to the community and the heritage of Taiz city . #Waeey Organization for heritage and development appeals to the international community and UNESCO to save the building, restore it, and make urgent interventions to stop the damage to the rest of the ancient sites and buildings that are on the verge of collapse.
